Expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors, Guangzhou Design Week will celebrate its ten-year anniversary in December 2015

The B2B Design and Brands Expo acts as a gateway to China for design professionals across the globe who are looking to enter the market and for those who are already well established. Running from December 4-6 at the Poly World Trade Expo Centre in Guangzhou, the show has become the largest domestic design expo in China, featuring hundreds of local and international exhibitors. This year’s event will feature four exhibition areas: Art+Design, Interiors+Materials, Living +Lifestyle and Commercial+Workplace, with forums throughout for related talks, workshops and award ceremonies.

Over the course of the three days, limitless potential is offered to exhibitors, in a country who is embracing the merits of international design. Leo He, the project director of Guangzhou Design Week, said, “The booth area of this year will add up to 50, 000 square metres and the exhibitors are limited to about 350. Over one hundred thousand professionals including owners, designers, project dealers, distributor, people from the media will present at the expo. More and more enterprises are starting to purse new strategy and business models because of the economic downtown in recent years. Therefore, a group of excellent enterprises rarely taking part in exhibition will be attracted to apply for participation in Guangzhou Design Week 2015. ”

To promote the show, over one thousand road shows are held in about one hundred cities, thus gaining important attention from the industry throughout the year. Ready Zhang, event director of Guangzhou Design Week and Co-Opted Board Member of IFI(2014-2015), said, “We hold over one thousand road shows in about 100 cities, which represents one effective measure to organise professional audience for Guangzhou Design Week. Multi-industry integration of social resources, exploitation of each link of the design chain at depth and creating a three-dimensional business platform in all aspects are resorted to bring economic benefits to exhibitors and maximise their brand values”.

Guangzhou Design Week 2015 has joined hands with several industrial institutions, well-known brand owners and design service sub-stations in consecutively launching relevant projects of its exhibitions, awards, tour institutes and R&D centers since the beginning of this year. Around one hundred tour shows were held in major cities across the country, such as, the 2015 Jintang Prize World Tour Promotion, World Interiors Congress 2015 (China), Design-Driven and Industrial Upgrading Summit Forum, the World Culture and Design Journey, China Design Star World Promotion(2014—2015) and National Campaign of China Design Star (2015-2016).

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the event, a new logo has been designed to best reflect the show’s mission: “To promote design by business.”
